What a brillant result - thank you to eveyone who "did their bit" through donation, sponsorship or taking part.

2011 £3926.25 Poppy Appeal donation

Club fund Raising is lead by Pat Birch
Club President with members of the sub committee

Following year's of support for the Poppy Appeal and our service personnell the 11/11/11 will be one of our record years thanks to the focus of the committee working within our community to raise the funds we so dearly need.

The old fashion 'shoe boxes' are still fashionable and something our troops really value. So if you can help , please contact Pat or Joan.

We will work with the majority of projects ideas suggested to help funds, so if you have an idea, please do approach our committee to help the success of the event. We have a lot of enthusiam and experience.

President & Head of Fund Raising

Club committee members add a taste of SPICE

A four course Indian meal raised money for Ferndown's Poppy Appeal.  Staff and chefs from the Ferndown town's Cinnamon Restaurant put on a curry night for the Royal British Legion Club members on Monday before donating £150.00 to the cause.

Around 30 members of the club turned up to enjoy the meal.  Accepting the cheque, club committee member Terri Phillips said: It is remarkable in this climate that a business within our community can join together and raise money for the Poppy Appeal so a very huge thank you to the team.

The Landlord and regulars of the White Hart Inn at Longham, responded to a request from Alan Clarke’s granddaughter Ellie Strange (Parley 1st School) and donated a wonderful  £160.00’s worth of “goodies” for Comfort boxes for the troops  The photo includes Alan Clarke, Paul the Landlord, Ron, Pat & Joan

BVSCS - RBL  relationship grows

Brian Wells receiving the donation from Chairman Alex Hewitt.

BVSCS makes generous contribution to forces charity. The Blackmore Vale Shooting and Conservation Society had been working together with Brian wells for the last two years to see how funds could be raised to support the Royal British Legion. A  number of options were discussed and Frank O Connor came up with the idea of a Charity Auction. A fantastic sum of £1237.50 had been raised.

" We have an excellent relationship with BVSCS and when I was invited this evening I had no idea of the generousity about to be bestowed. The donation absolutely astounded me and I was quite taken back when presented with a cheque of £1237.50 by Alex Hewitt Cahirman of BVSCS. Our warm and sincere thanks to all BVSCS members for their sterling efforts" Mr Wells said.
